Registration for ’12-’13 School Year
Registration is right around the corner!  Registration for currently enrolled students and their siblings will begin on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012.  You will have until February 24th to turn in your packet and receive priority over new families joining our program.  Open Registration for the community will begin Tuesday, February 28th.  Registration packets are available in the office or on our web-site at www.bbpreschool.org.  Please stop by the office if you have any questions about registration. As always, registration is taken on a first come first serve basis until all spaces are filled.  Please remember that for re-enrollment and open registration to be complete, all documentation and fees must be attached and current to hold your child’s place in the program. Please tell your friends and family about our school!  We are excited about our returning families as well as the new families the Lord will bring to our school!

February is Love of Reading Month
During the month of February, we celebrate the Love of Reading MonthAgain this year we are incorporating a Read-A-Thon for our required Spring Fundraiser. Each child is asked to contact sponsors for pledges, log the minutes read each day during the weeks of February 1st through February 22nd, and turn in the money raised, sponsor lists, and reading logs on Thursday, Feb. 23rd. The child who reads the most minutes and who raises the most money from each class will win a prize, and the one class in the school that reads the most minutes and/or raises the most money will win a pizza party!  Even if you choose to pay the $25 sustaining fee without raising pledges, please log the minutes you read with your child each day to help his/her class work towards the pizza party!  All classes will celebrate their accomplishments with a Read-All-Day/Pajama Day on March 1st or 2nd.  Renee Hannah, a well-known local story teller will come to Chapel on Thursday, March 1st to read a special story with our students.  Parents are always welcome to attend Chapel!  Teachers will post a sign-up sheet for parents to come in and read a story to their class on Read-All-DayLook for details coming soon from your child’s teacher. Please take this time to enjoy reading with your child(ren)!

Inclement Weather
We abide by the decision of the Walton County School System to close schools due to weather.  If they close, so do we.  If the Walton County Public School System decides to delay the opening of public schools by one hour, we will delay one hour and open at 10:30, with pick-up times remaining the same.  If WCPS decides to delay for more than one hour, we will not open for the day.  A Calling Post call will NOT always be sent out to signal the closing of school.  Please watch the news for the decision of Walton County Public Schools to know whether or not Bright Beginnings Preschool will be open.  Thank you!

Dad’s Dessert Night
Thursday, March 15th is our annual “Dad’s Dessert Night”.  This is an evening where each dad and son/daughter can spend time together at school.  This year we will celebrate our Daddies with a camping theme.  Festivities will begin at 7:00 PM.  Dads may arrive as early as 6:40 PM and drop their son/daughter off in his/her classroom.  There will be a short devotion in the sanctuary, and then the fathers will return to the classrooms to eat snacks “around the campfire” with their child.  Each teacher has planned special activities in which the students and fathers may participate prior to eating. Of course, as every year, the moms provide these goodies for them to eat! Look for details coming home soon!

Core Essentials and Chapel
As you know, we are implementing the Chick-fil-A program, “Core Essentials” each month in Chapel and in the 3’s, 4’s and Kindergarten classrooms.  During the month of January, we learned about the character virtue, Self-Control.  In Chapel, Mrs. Melody led the students in worship, and Keith Wages, our children’s Pastor, taught the children ways to display self-control when they get upset or frustrated.  Our character virtue for February will be Honor.  Our next Chapel service will be February, 2nd at 9:45 in the Sanctuary.  Renee Hannah, a local storyteller will be there to present a Dr.Seuss story to kick-off our Love-of-Reading Month.  Parents are always welcome to worship with us at Chapel!

Chick-fil-A Spirit Nights
Just a reminder to come on out to Loganville Chick-fil-A for our Spirit Night!  Thank you to all the families and staff who showed their support at our last Spirit Night!  Our next Spirit Night is Thursday, February 2nd, from 5-7pm.  Let's pack out our local Chick-fil-A; we can't wait to see you all there! Chick-fil-A has a new system for Spirit Nights so please make sure to tell the cashier that you are with Bright Beginnings AND place your receipt in the Spirit Night Box.  Please come out and show your support!  Chick-fil-A will donate 20% of all receipts donated to our school.

Café Mom
Café Mom is open to all mothers of preschoolers enrolled at Bright Beginnings.  Café Mom is a casual, “coffee-house” type of atmosphere hosted by our office staff and board.  On the first Wednesday of each month, we are going through a Bible Study on the Women of the Bible. You will have an opportunity to fellowship and eat yummy food and get to know other preschool moms.  The third Wednesday of each month will be a time of fellowship, coffee, and yummy food, led by other Bright Beginnings Moms with a study on Scream Free Parenting.  We will meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month, with special exceptions for school events and holidays.  Our fellowship lasts from 9:30am until 10:30am in the Hospitality Suite (in the back hallway of our school).  Childcare will be provided for younger siblings in Mrs. Melody’s music classroom, Room 119.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Here is our Café Mom Schedule for the remainder of the year:
