Summer Office Hours
The preschool office will be open each Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM. Please feel free to call or stop by if you have any questions regarding the coming school year.
New 2010-2011 Calendar
As many of you know, Walton County Public Schools adopted a new calendar for the 2010-2011 school year. We have also adjusted our school calendar to coincide with the WCPS calendar. The new start date for the 2010-2011 year is Tuesday, August 31st. Please see the 2010-2011 calendar attached to this newsletter. Home Visits and Open House
Teachers will receive their class lists at the beginning of August. Once they have this information, they will begin calling to set up home visits. Please remember that these visits are not a time for you to stress out or to entertain the teachers. Visits are for the purpose of introducing themselves to the student and the parent in an environment where the student feels safe and one where the student is familiar. It is also important to have the parent there for support and encouragement. Our teachers can’t wait to meet you! Open House will be Thursday, August 26th at 7:00 PM. We will meet for a brief meeting in the sanctuary and then you and your children will get to see your child’s classroom, along with the Spanish, Music, and Computer rooms. Your first month’s tuition and fundraiser money is due this night as well. To avoid the lines the night of Open House, feel free to come by during summer office hours to make payment.
Bright Beginnings Fundraiser Cards
The new and improved fundraiser cards are here! Newly enrolled families should look for their cards to come in the mail, and returning families need to stop by the office to exchange the cards we originally sent home for the new, correct cards. The discount listed for Bella Fiore Salon on the first card was incorrect. The new, corrected cards read: Free brow wax with haircut. We apologize for the printing error on the first card and any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for being so understanding! Get a jump start selling now before all local schools saturate the community with cards at the beginning of August. Our fundraiser cards are $5 each and we ask that each family sell 10 cards. We have some great discounts on our card like a free chicken biscuit with the purchase of a biscuit at Chick-fil-A, a free Kids meal with the purchase of an entrée at Quiznos, and a free small drink with a purchase at Zaxby’s (just to name a few). Please remember that all students/families are required to participate in this fundraiser and that all money collected from the cards (minimum $50 per family) is due at, or before, open house on August 26th. If you have questions about this fundraiser, please contact the preschool office.
ACSI Accreditation
We are excited to announce that the ACSI Southeast Regional Accreditation Commission met in June and re-accredited Bright Beginnings Preschool until June of 2015! A copy of the final report is available in the office for you to review. Thanks for all your support and involvement to help make Bright Beginnings great!
New Parent Orientation
If your family is new to Bright Beginnings and you have not yet attended our required New Parent Orientation, please mark your calendars for Thursday, August 12th at 7 PM. Call the office at (770) 466-2770 to RSVP. This is the final step in making your registration process complete. We look forward to seeing you there!
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for a group of parent volunteers to help watch staff kids on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 until 9:15 for a time of staff prayer and devotion. We hope to have enough volunteers to create a rotation so parents would only come once or twice a month. Please call the office(770-466-2770) if you are interested or would like more information. Registration for the 2010-2011 School Year
We still have limited spaces available in our Fours, Kindergarten, and Mother’s Morning Out classrooms for the 2010-2011 school year. Please encourage family and friends to stop by our office for an enrollment packet or to print it from our website.
Kid’s Consignment Sale
We are busy making plans for our Fall Consignment Sale, September 8th- 11th. This is a huge fundraiser for our school. Volunteers and sellers get to shop the sale early at our Preview Sale on Wednesday. To sign-up, go to our website and click the consignment sale link.
